By registering for and participating in the Caledonia Cup, each team, player, team official, and bench attendant (collectively referred to as "Participants") agrees to the following terms and conditions:
1. Acknowledgment of Regulations
1.1. All Participants acknowledge that their registration to the tournament and subsequent participation (should they be accepted from the waitlist with a successful application) constitute acceptance of the Tournament’s Regulations, as outlined below.
1.2. Participants agree to:
- Read and observe all rules and regulations of the Tournament in their entirety.
- Acknowledge that non-compliance with these Regulations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension, expulsion from the Tournament, or other penalties as determined by the Tournament Committee.
- Conduct themselves in a respectful manner that is appropriate for a family-friendly event and upholds the reputation of their clubs, the Tournament, and the sport of soccer.
- Abide by the principles of Fair Play throughout the competition.
2. Registration and Documentation Requirements
2.1. Upon entry, teams must present a team roster certified by their governing body’s registrar. If applicable, teams must also provide proof of permission to travel and/or proof of accident, injury, and illness insurance. These documents:
- Must be signed or stamped by the appropriate authority.
- Must be submitted in PDF format only.
2.2. All Participants must acknowledge that:
- Their club, team, and all players/team officials are currently registered and/or sanctioned for club soccer competitions.
- They are in good standing with both the Tournament and their respective district, provincial, territorial, state, or national governing body(ies).
2.3. Upon acceptance into the Tournament, teams must complete payment of registration fees within forty-eight (48) hours or risk losing their spot.
2.4. No refunds will be issued once payment of registration fees has been received. If the Tournament or any of its divisions is cancelled, registration fees shall be refunded minus a $60 administration fee.
2.5. Teams understand that upon entry, they will be waitlisted and only officially accepted to play in the Tournament by the Tournament Committee, which reserves the right to accept or deny any entry at its sole discretion.
3. Tournament Committee Authority
3.1. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adapt these Regulations or introduce temporary rules as necessary to address specific situations not covered in the existing framework, in order to meet the objectives of the Tournament and uphold Fair Play.
3.2. In instances where there are conflicts between the regulations of Alberta Soccer, EMSA modifications, the Laws of the Game, and the Tournament’s Regulations, the Tournament’s Regulations shall take precedence.
3.3. Participants are expected to:
- Track and uphold any suspensions, regardless of whether they have been officially informed by the Tournament’s Competition & Discipline Director.
- Attend disciplinary hearings if summoned.
- Respect decisions made by referees, tournament officials, and the Tournament Committee.
- Acknowledge that in extreme instances, law enforcement may be called to handle serious breaches of conduct.
4. Stay and Play Requirement
4.1. Teams traveling from more than 150 km outside of the Tournament’s host city are required to stay in a tournament host hotel as per the Stay and Play agreement with HTG Sports.
- Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in dismissal from the Tournament.
5. Liability and Financial Responsibility
5.1. Participants acknowledge that they shall be held financially liable for any property damage caused directly by their actions during the Tournament.
5.2. The Tournament, including its organizers, volunteers, and affiliates, is not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages incurred during the event. All Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage.
6. Acceptance of Changes
6.1. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to registered teams prior to the start of the Tournament.
6.2. Continued participation in the Tournament after any amendments to these terms and conditions shall be deemed as acceptance of those changes.
